The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is investigating a sewage bypass that resulted in the release of more than 10,000 gallons of untreated waste into an unnamed tributary of Fall Creek in southern Branson Wednesday. DNR learned about the problem today, according to a news release from the agency. The sewage overflow resulted from an electrical outage at a lift station near Fall Creek Road. The bypass lasted 15 minutes, releasing an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 gallons of untreated wastewater, according to DNR. The wastewater made its way to Fall Creek. City staff has drawn samples from the creek for testing and will draw samples again on Monday. Fall Creek drains into Lake Taneycomo. It is not known if any of the wastewater made it to the lake. full article Add Comment Preparing for Veterans Day 11/06/2009
